Experience the Presence of God at Prayer Island

Christian Retreat has always been a place of refuge and prayer. Now, PRAYER ISLAND, our 40 acre preserve across the Manatee River, is accessible by pontoon boat, and being further developed as a secluded place of prayer for you to get alone with God. Experience the presence of God in a totally pristine, natural Florida tropical preserve with walking trails and prayer stops. Benches mark 12 different prayer stations relating to the 12 Gates of Jerusalem, with information about each gate and a related prayer focus.

"Be still, and know that I am God..." Psalms 46:10

Christian Retreat was breathed into existence through God-given vision and the miraculous power of prayer. This remote part of the property has been used for Missionary Training and our Youth Leadership School. Now, God is leading us to upgrade the facilities and establish Prayer Island as a secluded place of prayer. As God provides, our plans include a foot-bridge across the Manatee River making Prayer Island even more accessible.

Scriptures on Prayer

"This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us - whatever we ask - we know that we have what we asked of him" (1 John 5:14-15).

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:6-7).

"Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus" (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18).

"And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it" (John 14:13-14).

"Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to  you.  For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened."(Matthew 7:7-8)
