This is an opportunity to spend at least one hour in prayer, following the prayer paths to all of the 12 Gates of Prayer, stopping to read the plaques, declare the scriptures aloud, and pray as instructed. Take your time, linger and listen to hear His “small still voice” (I Kings 19:12). Document your discoveries (write down what you hear). At Prayer Gate 4 (Sheep Gate) walk east to the “Bridge of Thanksgiving” and thank God for at least 3 things in particular. As you pray, consider these important Elements of Prayer:
- TIME (It takes time to develop relationship) Matthew 26:40
- CONTINUITY (Continual conversation with God) I Thess. 5:17
- PERSISTENCE (Never give up) Luke 18:1-8, Luke 11:5-10
- FERVENCY (Get passionate with God) James 5:16, Hebrews 11:6
- SACRIFICE (Deny the flesh) Mark 1:35, Matthew 17:21
Return to Gate 1 and finish your walk by reciting THE LORD’S PRAYER through memory or from Matthew 6:9-13
